Letter from Ten Bucks Theatre President, Simon Ferland:

Dear Friends,
Ten Bucks Theatre, Co is now in its twelfth season and we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished with the generous and thoughtful support we have from our community.
We continue to be committed to enrich the lives of people in the Greater Bangor area by presenting diverse, unique, high-quality, affordable productions.  We do this by operating on an ensemble philosophy, where all company members are encouraged to participate not only as performers and directors, but also as designers, managers, and producers.
Ten Bucks Theatre complements other professional and community theater companies in the Greater Bangor and Hancock County area.  We have a reputation of providing an entertaining theatrical experience and a low ticket price.
In our just completed season we produced four shows in four venues:

  1. A staged reading of The Crucible as a fundraiser to aid the restoration efforts of Harmony Hall in Hampden;
  2. Edward Albee’s classic ‘Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?’ directed by Ben Layman at Comins Hall, Eddington.
  3. The comedy, ‘Epic Proportions’ directed by Arthur Morison (at Comins Hall).
  4. Our  ‘Summer 2011, Shakespeare Under The Stars – ‘Hamlet’, at Indian Trail Park, Brewer and Fort Knox in Prospect, ME

We really appreciate our friends’ and patrons’ desire to see Ten Bucks succeed, and their support keeps us sustainable.  Our operating costs are low when compared to the quality of our productions and the enjoyment our audiences experience.  However, ticket sales cover only around 70 percent of our operating budget. For the rest, we depend on donations from individuals, foundations and members of the ensemble.

So, please consider making a donation to us.  Remember, Ten Bucks Theatre is a tax-exempt non-profit organization (a 501(c)(3) non-profit), and depending on your tax situation, your donation is tax deductible to the full extent the law allows.

Payments can be made via PayPal (above) or sent to:
