Bernard Hope

Born and raised in England, Bernard immigrated to the USA in 2005. He now lives in Ellsworth, Maine, with his wife and step-son. He’s also the father of two college-age children, who live with their mother in the UK.
He joined the Ten Bucks ensemble in 2008 and has fulfilled the important role of token ‘Brit’ ever since.
“When the opportunity arose to join Ten Bucks; I jumped at the chance. It allowed me to get involved in aspects of delivering a quality theatre experience that wouldn’t necessarily have been open to me. Choosing productions, performing, securing props and costuming, budgeting and production planning have all helped me develop as an actor. Meeting people and building new friendships through the performing arts really helped me acclimatize to living in the USA”.
In addition to being a member of the Ten Bucks Theatre Co. ensemble (appearing in productions of Fawlty Towers/Monty Python, Twelfth Night, Duck Variations, The Lovers and The Collection), he has also appeared at Penobscot Theatre (Bangor, ME), Acadia Repertory Theatre (Somesville, ME), the Grand (Ellsworth, ME) and with the New Surrey Theatre (Blue Hill, ME).
