Ben Layman is a
Maine native and has performed on stages from Eastport to Virginia Beach.
Favorite roles in the Bangor area include Jinx in Forever Plaid and Plaid
Tidings, Snail and others in A Year with Frog and Toad,
Audrey 2 in Little Shop of Horrors, Nicely
in Guys and Dolls, Charlie Brown in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown and Mr. Boddy
in Clue, The Musical. Regional credits include Violet, Carousel(with
Shirley Jones), Sunday in the Park with George and The Importance of Being Earnest.
Locally, Ben has
directed productions of Dracula, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, Who’s
Afraid of Virginia Woolf, and The Crucible. Ben
has also co-directed the Grand Auditorium’s Summer Youth Theatre, and is
employed by the Penobscot Theatre Company as a teaching artist bringing
Shakespeare to the schools.
