Katie Brayson

Katie has been a member of Ten Bucks Theatre Company since 2022. Growing up as a budding actress in the Orono area, local theatre companies like Ten Bucks were always a huge inspiration for her, and she’s honored to continue participating in such an artistically vibrant community! Ten Bucks’ 2021 production of As You Like It brought her to the company, giving her the opportunity to Assistant Stage Manage and understudy for Phebe. Then, in 2022, Katie played the role of Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, and Co-Fight Captain behind the scenes. When she’s not participating in Shakespeare Under The Stars, she can be found studying Theater and English at the University of Maine. Some of her favorite roles include #14 in The Wolves, Viola in Twelfth Night, Serza in Anon(ymous) and Katherine Howard in Six Dead Queens and An Inflatable Henry—the farce that sparked her swashbuckling interest. Outside of acting, her main theatrical focuses include directing, improvisational comedy, stage combat, and playwriting, for which she was awarded the 2022 Robert C. Hamlet Playwriting Award. To her, theater is not only a creative outlet, but a catalyst for community connection through relatable, life-changing stories; and she hopes to bring this perspective to all her future TBT endeavors!
